Our Bitumen tank containers are used for the transport and storage of bitumen emulsions, PMBs, and heavy fuel oils. They maximize product carrying capacity within the constraints of a standard ISO shipping slot space. Bitumen tanks are ideal for temporary storage depots and job sites.

FAQ on typical Bitutainers

Q: Are Bitutainers supplied with heating and handling equipment included?
No, Bitutainers are supplied with factory-installed heater tubes but Burner Sets and other equipment are not included.
Q: What are the heating options?
Three options; Direct Fire Diesel or LPG Burners, inserting electric elements into the direct fire heating tubes, or by using Thermal Oil from an existing circuit. Direct Fire heating is the most popular option.
Q: How long does it take to heat a full Bitutainer?
Typically it will take 10-11 hours to heat a full Bitutainer (using a 200ltr of diesel) from ambient (approx. 20°C) to pumping temperate (approx. 140°C).
Q: Can 40ft Bitutainer be transported full?
No, 40ft Bitutainers are for storage only. They are not designed or certified for transportation full of products.
Q: Do Bitutainers ship as standard containers?
Yes, they are shipped as standard CSC plated containers
Q: Are Bitutainers suitable for all grades of bitumen?
Yes, Bitutainers are suitable for all grades of bitumen, PMBs and heavy fuel oils. The exception is Coal Tar due to the higher temperatures required for discharge and transfer.

RENTAL BITUTAINERS

We can offer short and long-term leases/rental of both new and existing bitutainers and bitumen tank containers. New container equipment ex-works or positioned to your place of demand and existing containers from our depots. The rental contracts have the advantages of flexibility, which often is a necessity in an ever-changing market environment.

The Lessee will be granted certain redelivery locations as well as conditions for the returned equipment i.e. repairs standard and quantities in any given month. We can also offer a full-service lease where pre-agreed repair cost and maximum return flexibility is offered for a certain type of equipment.

The Lease Purchase

The Lease Purchase Option we offer usually fulfills the requirements of the shipping lines, forwarders, terminals, and other companies in the Transport industry, for their long-term investment in containers and related equipment.

The Lease/Purchase contracts have the advantages of the operational lease since the expense is fully deductible during the term of the contract (in most countries) while at the same time the advantage of a bank loan is maintained as the title to the equipment will ultimately be transferred to a company nominated by the Lessee at the end of the term.

Lease-Purchase, as opposed to operational leasing, offers the Lessee very attractive daily rental rates on equipment built to the customer’s own design and specifications. The rent is either based on fixed rental payment or variable rental payments, adjusted according to changes in the underlying reference interest rate
